Have you got 12-24 months before your required Local Government Authority issue date? Do you have new family members – crawling babies, inquisitive nieces and nephews or grand-children coming to visit? Do you want to make sure you have done everything in your power to make your pool and or spa barrier safe? Our comprehensive on-site analysis includes a detailed report with pictures and rectification advice on all items of your safety barrier compliance.

Melbourne Pool & Spa Compliance offers pool and spa owners the reassurance of knowing exactly what state their safety barrier is in, so they can get their safety barrier ready for the required compliance date. We can then come out and do the proper compliance report prior to the council’s deadline and issue a Form 23 – Certificate of Pool and Spa Barrier Compliance (Building Act 1993 – Building Regulations 2018), if all is compliant.

What rules apply to my pool and/or spa?

Your Local Government Authority letter will advise you, however the general key dates are:

  • Pools or spas built prior to 8 April 1991
  • Pools or spas built after 8 April 1991 through to 30 April 2010
  • Pools or spas built after 1 st May 2010

By law, we need to inspect your pool or spa safety barrier according to your Local Government Authority, if there are differences, ensure that they are fixed before we inspect.

We take the worry out of ensuring you maintain your compliance.

Handy Tips:

Once you have a compliant safety barrier, it’s easy to keep it compliant by:

  • Keeping your plants by your safety barrier trimmed.
  • Checking your gate is closing properly consistently.
